Kenpo karate vs other martial arts.
If you are at all a fan of the mystery behind the martial arts and are remotely considering either joining up or trying a different style, then no doubt you noticed the trending buzz surrounding two of the most combative styles available:
- The Brazilian Capoeira, which highlights an aerobic hypnotic mélange of twirling dance kicks, corkscrew-like acrobats, and mesmerizing striking offensive attacks, and once was banned in its founding nation of Brazil and became a hidden society among betting rings and well-hidden fight clubs and by far is the closest to today’s modern professional MME cage fights.
- The Israeli Krav Maga, whose main purpose is to take a street fight to a new level, takes its place seriously with optimizing militia operatives, where hand-to-hand combat can quickly turn to weapons of every sort like knives, clubs, stones, sticks…basically, karate to the edge of death if need be in real life. Krav Maga has been toned down to teach as martial arts but can still be dangerous if not taught by a highly trained and experienced professional.
Kenpo borrows forms and fundamentals from both of these in such a juxtaposition that it is safe for toddlers to learn and is often considered superior to other martial arts for several reasons.
★ Flowing Movements: Unlike other martial arts that rely on rigid stances and movements, Kenpo Karate emphasizes fluidity. The movements in Kenpo flow from one to the next, creating a continuous chain of attacks and defenses. This fluidity allows practitioners to adapt to changing situations and respond quickly to threats.
★ Versatility: Kenpo Karate teaches students to use every part of their body as a weapon. This versatility gives practitioners a wide range of options when defending themselves, making it harder for attackers to predict their actions.
★ Realistic Situations: While many martial arts focus on sport or acrobatics, Kenpo Karate is grounded in real-world self-defense scenarios. The techniques taught in Kenpo are designed to be effective in actual combat situations, not just in the dojo or on the mat.
★ Defense Over Offense: Kenpo Karate is primarily a defensive martial art. It teaches students to avoid conflict whenever possible and to use force only as a last resort. This philosophy aligns with the principles of self-defense and personal safety, making Kenpo an excellent choice for those seeking to protect themselves and their loved ones.
★ Adaptability: Kenpo Karate is adaptable to the individual practitioner. Whether you’re young or old, male or female, athletic or not, Kenpo can be tailored to suit your abilities and needs.
Whether you’re looking for a way to protect yourself, improve your fitness, or simply learn a new skill, Kenpo Karate is a martial art worth considering.
