Len Brassard's Family Martial Arts Center
Leominster and Fitchburg, MA
About Our Family
The Family Martial Arts Center has invested over a quarter-century of community commitment to our students. Over that time, we have maintained our reputation of being a successful family-familiar atmosphere, much more than a school or academy. By blending modern martial arts training with behavioral psychology, we apply our balance of a unique Character Development program that guides children in to make good decisions and keeps them on the correct path. At the same time, they strive to attain their own potentials. This structure is a pinnacle for us, and we believe, is one of the reasons we now work with new generations of our current and former alumni.

A Visionary with a Legacy to Uphold
Under the keen eye and dedicated involvement of the 2020 American Kenpo International Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. Len Brassard, students of all ages have and continue to enroll in his programs. He often revisits his first experiences as a student himself that saw him as a ten-year-old boy practicing Martial Arts at the Y.M.A.C. in Leominster.
A mere 6 years later, his coaching career began in Fitchburg and 50 years later, coaching for 44 of them, while he has been quoted as saying he “felt like I was impacting people’s life and to grow up in a place where I get to help people and watch them grow up is a remarkable thing.”[1]
Spurred on and instilled into him by his own father, Len now takes huge pride in involving his own family in every aspect of teaching and training the mainstay of their studio dojos, American Kenpo, and its associated mental side of defense.
When asked about his outlook for the future and the ancient traditions and teachings from which Martial Arts has evolved, Len Brassard replies, “It’s old, but it hasn’t gotten old,” he said. “There is still much that needs to be done.” [2]
Why Choose Len Brassard’s Family Martial Arts Center?
For the family, for the fun, for the future.
North Central Massachusetts parents and kids are raving about how much they have gained from the Family Martial Arts Center. Family Martial Arts offers a wide selection of age, group level, learning curve, and physical ability classes. One-of-a-kind character-building programs help children become more confident, focused, raise their self-esteem, and improve grades. As a result, toddlers learn to extend their social interactions and assert positive, independent habits. School-aged kids become more confident, focused, raise their self-esteem, and improve grades. In addition, teenagers practice the benefits of peer leadership and anti-bullying remedies.
Adults and parents attend routine courses to build and maintain family bonds, experience new Martial Arts styles, hone their already engaged skills, and socialize to release daily stresses. Learning to lead by example, their kids will be prone to being more engaged at home as well when they see their parents on the same academic level.
